Which natural under water feature do you find the most interesting? Name the feature and why it's interesting. If it has a function in some way explain. Also if it moves or goes off or something, explain what this is and how it happens.
To me the most interesting underwater feature would have to be underwater volcanoes. Although they form from the mix of water and magma I find the idea of one erupting underwater somewhat different. Underwater volcanoes work just about the same way as volcanoes that form on land. They erupt and, as recently discovered, can have explosion during the said eruptions. One function for underwater volcanoes is how they form land. When a volcano erupts the magma immediately starts to harden due to the cool water. When the rock hardens enough it forms either a small island or a volcano that comes out from the sea. If it forms into a volcano the volcano will continue to erupt and cause the volcanic island to grow.
The coolest underwater feature to me is all of the different kind of sea life. There are so many different types of creatures underwater it is crazy. Sea life has many functions. It gives humans a healthy choice of diet, it provides food for other animals, and just to look at them is pretty awesome. Each type of sea life is different in some way, the may look, move or sound differentn it just depends on their type of creature.
I've always liked coral reefs. I think they are so fascinating because of their cool shape and beautiful colors. Suprisingly, coral reefs are actually living. They form when small skeletons from organisms called polyps build up on the ocean floor. These coral reefs are good for the enviornment because fish live in them. They provide them protection and they camoflouge them from predators.
I have a lot of underwater features that I like. What I like the most is the underwater animals. Yes I am afraid of the fish and such but I like how they look and act. Whales are the biggest underwater animal, so you'd think that it would dominate the sea. That's not the case because most whales eat on small specimans like plankton and krill.
The natural underwater fresture that I like is mountains in the ocean floor. I think it is so amazing how something so big on land could be tucked away in the ocean with no visible sight. During earthquakes pieces of the mountain could fall to the very bottom of the ocean floor that could cause the tectonics plates to shift, making the bottom of the ocean to be shaped differently.
The underwater feature I find the most interesting are oceanic trenches. They are long narrow topographic depressians. Trenches are between two lithospheric plates. Oceanic trenches are the deepest parts of the ocean. That is why I thick Oceanic trenches are the most interesting underwater feature.
The underwater feature I find the most interesting is the different types of plants. My favorite is seaweed. Shoreline creatures feed on it and it is used in many products people use (toothpaste, icecream, medicines, paints, etc.) There are so many different types of plants. Most of the plants have not been discovered yet. The plants form on the ocean floor and sway with the current.
I believe the most interesting underwater feature is what lies at the bottom of deep sea trenches. Some of these trenches are not explored, so nobody knows what they have in their depths. New creatures, plants, minerals, etc. could be only found in the deepest waters, and we lack the technology to reach them. These trenches are formed when one oceanic plate subducts under another.
I would have to say that thee East Australian Current (EAC) is very interesting to me. The fast moving water inside of another body of water has always been amazing to me.
I would say the coolest thing about the ocean is all the different plants and animals we dont see here on land. The under water ecosystem is gives us one more thing to learn about and study and its quiet fasinating.
Honestly, I would agree with both Teasia and NaQuan. The most amazing underwater feature to me would be the different types of animals. They all have unique physical structures, and they all make the underwater unique as well. They don't really do much besides swim, drift or dwell. However, the way that they live, what they eat, and how they spend their everyday lives makes these creatures so amazing to me.
My favorite underwater feature are sand bars because you can go pretty far out from shore and stand on a sandbar and not be in such deep water. The only bad thing about sand bars is that sharks like to swim between them and hunt for fish.
My favorite underwater feature would be a sea anenome. I like them because tens of hundreds of tentacles that can sting their predators. They can sting the back of your hand, but not your palm. I also like them because the look pretty cool.
I think that underwater trenches are just about the coolest things. These trenches are where many undescovered fish live. Trenches are cool because most of them have not been explored yet
I think abysses are very interesting. The way they seem to go on and on for "forever". If we don't have the technology to get to the deepest part of the deepest abyss how do we really know when it ends? Our abyssal's on Earth have so many species in its depths and i'm sure there are so many others that we haven't discovered yet!
